Some thoughts from the "bush"

Reaching out to orphans has been done all too often according to the "good old" HR model... We prepare a programme, we gather some old clothes an some chocolates and then HIT & RUN away!

Who would be ready to BE the gospel to a child, even one child? You can be the good news! Your presence, your attention, your encouragement, your good example, your positive "role model" - these are worth gold to the children without parents.

Moreover, imagine it was your birthday? Would you like to have a piece of old clothes and a few gospel tracts printed in the 1980s as a present? I quess not, unless you were destitude? Why not give the children our best? (That is: what is best TODAY and not "best before 10 years ago...")

We would like to do as good camp as we can with our limited resources. Would you be ready to give something? Your time? A gift to a child, something that you would like to receive yourself!? Or help us in organizing the camp.

Jesus said: "Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back." (Luke 6:38)

Ark camps 2008

Hello!!! Yes, it seems to be true - we'll have another two camps this summer - same place, same time - ie. August 6.-15. and 17.-26!!

We have had some unforgetable trips all over the place just to prepare for this summers camps - I hope we could post some pictures from Pedrozavodsk, Lahti, Vologda, Masala, Volosovo, Äänekoski... to this blog!! Read more (in Finnish only - sorry!) at www.menejakerro.fi.

Anyway, please do join us in the camp this year, too!! We cannot invite all children from Russia to our camps, but we would certainly welcome some more "doers" for the camp!!
